My interview series with Ukrainian bands continues with Gothic metallers The Remorse from Sumy, Ukraine. On top of ongoing war, we had a bit of a language barrier but the band still sent their video greetings and I’m very happy that they did.
The Remorse was founded in 2017 and is currently a four piece band without a drummer. They are one of the bands that have continued to play concerts under Russian attack. The band considers music as an important way to share positive feelings for people in need of hope and strength in a horrible situation. Their gigs have attracted good crowds and the band describes the events as unforgettable.
The Remorse feels that reaching listeners is a bit difficult as metal music is not that popular in Ukraine. Regardless the band has things to say and they will continue to make music and play gigs trusting their own style.
The band wants to spread a message of peace by reminding us about the horrors of war and how it’s up to all of us to make sure this never happens again.
