Finnish metalcore band Balance Breach released their third album Save Our Souls via German label Out Of Line. In an interview, vocalist Aleksi Paasonen describes the album as the band’s most ambitious effort yet, aiming to finally fulfill their potential.
Work on the album began immediately after their previous release ABYZMAL in 2023. According to Paasonen, the goal was to create their strongest album to date, shedding the band’s label as a “young and promising” act. The title track Save Our Souls encapsulates the album’s essence with its tight structure and powerful melodies.
Producer Rami Nykänen played a significant role in the songwriting and arrangement process, bringing fresh perspectives to the band’s creative approach. Paasonen notes that Nykänen was particularly crucial in finalizing the vocal arrangements, with decisions made collaboratively.
The title track was also accompanied by the band’s most ambitious music video yet, depicting a group of rebels searching for beauty amidst a toxic world. Paasonen emphasizes the importance of visual elements, although music remains the core focus for Balance Breach.
This year marks the band’s 10-year anniversary, bringing increased confidence both on record and on stage. Paasonen says that Balance Breach now aims to fully enjoy their latest release and tour extensively both in Finland and internationally, before making new plans.
