I might have mentioned that I find Dark Pop as an idea and genre very intriguing. Blackout Problems from Munich have opted to call their music Dark Pop too though band’s guitarist Moritz told me he was not aware of anyone else using the term. Dark Pop gets a bad rap for no reason and it feels like metal and rock people dismiss it very easily as childish or overtly commercial music. I think I fell into that a bit too with Blackout Problems after reading about their thing from press release and watching their polished website and videos but after talking with Moritz and giving their third album Dark couple spins I’m ready to admit I was wrong. These guys are the real deal and I can’t wait to see them live someday somehow.
